Below is the text of our standard contract. Occasionally we may change the contract for specific situations. The contract listed on this web site is for reference purpose ONLY. An original, dated, signed (by the breeder and purchaser) contract is considered valid.
Cat or Kitten Contract
Welcome to the select few who have the joy of owning one of the worlds most lovable Sphynx. We put our cats/kittens needs first and we ask the same from you. The purchaser agrees to the following:
This cat/kitten sale contract is entered into at ___________ on ________, 2008 by and between Robert/Kristy Sterling (herewith referred to as Seller), and to (herewith referred to as Purchaser).
1. The Seller agrees to sell and the Purchaser agrees to buy the following described cat/kitten:

3. NO CASH REFUNDS.
4. The cat/kitten will receive his/her booster shots as described in shot records and yearly veterinary examinations.
5. The cat/kitten is guaranteed for a period of 72 hours from time of purchase (arrival) if VET- checked within that time. The new cat/kitten must be kept in quarantine during the 72 hours after purchase from other pets. If it is found to be medically deficient with an untreatable or life-threatening problem, it must be reported to the Seller within that time. After veterinarian verification of euthanization, it will be replaced with another cat/kitten of equal value. If no replacement is available at that time, Seller will have 12 months to furnish satisfactory replacement. Under no circumstances is a cat/kitten to be destroyed prior to notification by the Purchaser to the Seller.
6. Seller assumes no responsibility for any expenses incurred by the Purchaser.
7. If for any reason the buyer wishes to return or exchange a cat/kitten for reason other than the health of the animal upon receipt, replacement will be only at the discretion of the Seller. Exchanges or returns will be looked into carefully. All attempts will be made to deliver to the buyer a healthy cat/kitten matched to your appropriate needs and wants. No known sick animal will ever be placed by Angels Ark Sphynx Cattery to any buyer. A letter of certification (HEALTHY) from a VET will be provided to buyer. All kittens will be given an Exam, General with Vaccines, FRCP Intranasal, FELV / FIV Diagnostic Test and Fecal Exam before placed with Buyer. All cats/kittens come with a one year genetic or congenital guarantee.
8. Seller discloses to Purchaser that this is a hairless breed, it may be more susceptible to various skin conditions which include fungus such as ringworm. Some skin conditions are communicable to humans. Seller can in no way be held liable for any human contracting a skin condition from this cat/kitten.
9. It is the responsibility of the Purchaser to provide immediate veterinary care to the cat/kitten showing signs of illness or distress and failure to do so will render any guarantee null and void. If the cat/kitten is vaccinated against FIP, Chlamydia or Feline Leukemia, this Contract as well as any and all guarantees is null and void. If the buyer is unsure whether or not the cat/kitten is in need of medical services, a veterinarian will be contacted and the veterinarian advice acted upon. The Kitten will not be allowed outside except on a leash (under close supervision). Please note that dangerous organisms can live on sidewalks, grasses, bottom of shoes, ect. that your cat/kitten can pick up.
10. The cat/kitten will not be declawed. A weekly bath or wipe down (wipes) and ear cleaning is needed. Sphynx produce skin oil that if left unattended could cause skin issues and ear infections.
11. If for some unknown reason the Purchaser needs to find said cat/kitten a new home, Seller has first option to buy the cat/kitten back. This right is not time limited, but remains in effect for the entire life span of the cat/kitten.
12. The cat/ kitten needs frequent human attention. Some Sphynx are shoulder riders and will try to ride on your shoulder. Please use logic in interacting with your pet. Gentle play and NO ROUGH PLAY or this will create a MONSTER. Supervise cat/kitten with small toys and strings, this can get caught in throat and can cause death of cat/kitten. The cat/kitten must have fresh water and food available at all times.
13. DO NOT USE FLEA & TICK TOPICAL MONTHLY MEDICINES (Advantage, Frontline, ect) on cat/kitten, this could cause sickness or DEATH.
14. This cat/kitten is, to the best of our knowledge, healthy at the time of sale and has had the appropriate inoculations and vaccines as stated in the health certificate provided upon receipt of the cat/kitten.
15. Please Note: It is understood that degrees in hairlessness in Sphynx vary from cat to cat and that no feline is completely hairless. Furthermore, it is understood that hormones and genetics play an important role in hairlessness and that even though a Sphynx kitten may be almost hairless when sold it is possible said kitten could develop some hair (FUZZ) after being neutered/spayed or as it grows older. It is impossible to guarantee that any Sphynx cat or kitten will not grow some hair at some point in the future. This could be on the tail, base of tail or feet.
16. Cat/Kitten shall be spayed/neutered from a qualified veterinarian at six months from birth date before Register papers (TICA) will be released to buyer. Documentation must be faxed or mailed to Seller. Said kitten will not be sold for breeding. There are no breeding rights on TICA register papers without express written consent. An amendment to Contract for breeding rights would be discussed at a later date.

The laws of the state of Georgia shall be controlling. Purchaser signature indicates full agreement and approval of all the above terms and conditions of this contract.
